Admissions directors are often the first point of contact for families of neurodivergent or disabled students. This session will provide practical guidance on how to ask thoughtful questions, use respectful language, and recognize when additional input is needed. Together, we’ll build confidence and consistency in the admissions process—while co-creating a resource that supports inclusive school decision-making.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Gain foundational understanding of inclusive and respectful language when discussing disability and neurodivergence with families

  2. Learn how to ask clear, non-stigmatizing, and informative questions

  3. Identify what information is reasonable to request from families and when to involve others

  4. Collaboratively co-create a practical, disability-inclusive admissions checklist (edited)
