Events Manager and Program Developer

The Events Manager supports the Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director by supporting SENIA events including conferences. Future event concepts are in development and include SENIA Sessions and Webinars.

Responsibilities include:

Plan all SENIA Events including the Virtual Conference, In Person Event, and future “sessions” and webinars. Some of the duties are as follows:

  • Develop agenda and organize conference logistics
  • Assist schools with questions
  • Email schools/individuals with information (established relationships & cold calls)
  • Assist with group registration
  • Follow up with speakers about questions
  • Create speaker badges and other conference graphics
  • Manage and send invoices to schools
  • Provide certificates for attendees and speakers
  • Track documents for attendees for conference credit (if applicable)
  • Ensure videos and materials for virtual are submitted, checked and uploaded to the event platform
  • Liaise with hosting school and on-site event coordinators
  • Share event feedback with presenters and the board & develop a plan to incorporate feedback if necessary
  • Develop leads for possible speakers
  • Order supplies from vendors for in person conferences and other events
  • Attend conferences
  • Support with marketing all events
  • Send all speaker and attendee announcements
  • Assist in budgeting
  • Manage sponsorship
    • Find new sponsors who align with the SENIA mission and vision
    • Build strong relationships with sponsors
    • Send invoices
  • Create and send monthly newsletters and conference blasts.
  • Any requests of the Executive or Deputy Director as pertains to the smooth running of the SENIA conferences/events

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in special education or a related field
  • Familiarity or interest in learning multiple platforms including Whova, Canva, WordPress, Asana, Slack, and Nutshell
  • Superb organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to be flexible with hours
