Andrea Lillis

Deputy Executive Director

Andrea is new to the SENIA family this year. She is an elementary school homeroom teacher focused on student-led inquiry in inclusive environments.
 
Andrea has a Masters in Education focused on literacy. Andrea enjoyed teaching in North America, the Middle East, and Asia and recently repatriated to Canada
 
In her free time, Andrea enjoys kayaking, hiking, reading, cooking, and volunteering with local animal rescues.

Lizzie Hudson

Director of Membership

Lizzie is a special needs teacher who is passionate about helping schools on their journey to becoming inclusive and helping families and students be their own advocates. She has a Masters in Special and Inclusive Education and certification in Inclusive Leadership. She is currently based in Brazil. Lizzie is lucky enough to travel the world with her husband, 2 kids, and cats. She loves gardening, cooking, running, and exploring the different corners of our world.

April J. Remfrey

SENIA Academy Program Assistant

April J Remfrey, MS, is an educational consultant that focuses her time working with international schools and globally mobile families with neurodiverse children. She international schools to help improve their inclusive practices through professional development and ongoing support.

She has a BA in special education and elementary education from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, USA and received a master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, USA in Exceptional Education. She has been a teacher for over 20 years in three countries and has experience in the public, private, and international school environments.

April serves on the International and European boards of directors for SENIA: Special Education Network and Inclusion Association.

Since 2013, April, her husband, and daughter have lived in the Zurich, Switzerland area. Never one to sit still, April likes to hike in the stunning Swiss Alps, cook gourmet food, and play clarinet in the local concert band.

Lori Boll

Executive Director

Lori Boll brings a wealth of experience and a deep personal connection to the field of Inclusive Education. Her journey began in 2003 when her son Braden was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and an Intellectual Developmental Disorder (IDD), a pivotal moment that ignited her passion for advocating for creating more inclusive schools.

With two Masters degrees in Reading Education and Special Education, Lori has amassed over twenty-five years of teaching experience in both international and domestic settings. Her career has taken her to the American International School Riyadh, Jakarta Intercultural School, Concordia International School, Shanghai, International School Bangkok, as well as schools in Saipan, California and Colorado. Notably, she has spearheaded the creation of higher support needs programs in China and Thailand.
 
Lori is the co-author of Navigating Special Education Relationships: Building Collective Efficacy for a Collaborative Team fostering collaborative and effective working teams of families, teachers, and practitioners.
 
Currently serving as the Executive Director of SENIA International, Lori channels her passion into supporting the professional development of educators worldwide.
 
Through her leadership, she continues to advocate for inclusive practices and empower educators to make a meaningful difference in the lives of neurodivergent and disabled individuals.

Tanya Farrol

Founding Member and Board President

Tanya Farrol is a founding member of SENIA and has been part of the organization since 2002. She has hosted SENIA conferences in Beijing where she lived for over 18 years. Since 2009, she has been on the SENIA Board organizing the Scholarships & Awards and part of the SENIA-Beijing Board as the external expertise list coordinator and organizing local conferences from 2009 – 2020.

Tanya received a Masters in Special Education while teaching overseas in England. As a special educator with 23+ years of experience in international schools, she has promoted inclusion and raised awareness of special education issues in the communities she has lived in – Haiti, Egypt, England, and China.

Currently, she is living and working at Nanjing International School where she continues to support Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the community. You can typically find Tanya traveling around the world with her family, eating scrumptious food and cheering on her beloved Formula One team.

Dr. Gerald Anthony

Director of Scholarships

Dr. Gerald W. Anthony has been in China since 2002, working as an educator and counselor. He has a doctorate degree in counseling, K-12 educational leadership certification, and a wide range of experiences in the areas of CBT, autism, and language. Gerald brings over two decades of education and leadership experience to the SENIA-Beijing board. Currently, he serves as the Director of Scholarships for SENIA and also has the role of Chair of SENIA-Beijing.
