We are honored to congratulate Eunchan Hwang, founder of 3D CURE, on being selected as a SENIA World Changer Award winner. Eunchan’s vision emerged from witnessing a heartbreaking reality in hospital wards across Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. In a country of over 100 million people served by only around 500 orthopedic surgeons, patients waited months for basic care, and life-changing devices like prosthetics and braces. The cost of the prosthetics were over 5,000 birr, which remained out of reach for most families. Rather than accept this structural inequality, Eunchan asked a powerful question: what if we could make it different?
The answer is 3D CURE. By combining 3D scanning, custom modeling, and 3D printing technology, Eunchan and his team now deliver personalized orthopedic devices within five days at just 800-1,000 birr. This has transformed what was once impossible into accessible reality. With over 120 patients served and partnerships with 5+ hospitals, Eunchan has proven that innovation, compassion, and determination can dismantle barriers to healthcare. This award is a testament to his unwavering commitment to dignity and inclusion. Congratulations, Eunchan. Your work changes lives every single day.
