Miggie Shum
Director of Growth & Development
Originally from Hong Kong, Miggie Shum received a Masters degree in Communication Disorders in 2006, and is a certified Speech-Language Pathologist with extensive experience supporting children—from preschool to young adulthood—in diverse international settings, including Hong Kong, Vietnam, Macau, and Shanghai.
Miggie collaborates closely with families, educators, and professionals while serving multilingual communities in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. She believes in a team and child-centered approach, and continues to ensure her practices are inclusive and neurodiversity-affirming. She is a certified member of the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA), as well as a registered member of the Hong Kong Institute of Speech Therapists (HKIST).
Miggie helped organize and attended her first SENIA conference in Shanghai in 2011. She currently contributes to SENIA International as the Director of Growth and Development, fostering global connections with SENIA’s regional and local chapters. Beyond her professional work, Miggie enjoys hiking, spending time with her family and their dogs, and reading.
