The SENIA Outreach Scholarship honors an individual or group with a financially supported project that will have a measurable impact in helping to promote inclusion in a current SENIA community.

It celebrates the achievements, abilities, and aspirations of individuals with disabilities, while advocating for inclusion around the world.

Scholarship details

Projects that move inclusion forward.

One regional winner is selected by a global SENIA review committee of five to seven members who fulfill SENIA's mission.

What the committee considers

Raising awareness of special needs
Advocating for special needs individuals
Individual commitment, enthusiasm, and ability to complete the project
Impact on a SENIA Local Chapter and its community

What recipients receive

An invitation to a special virtual awards ceremony and celebration at the next SENIA conference
A recipient certificate and a USD $2,500 monetary scholarship toward the specified project
A 10-minute virtual presentation at the next SENIA Conference
Website, newsletter, podcast, and social media features

Who is eligible

There is no minimum age requirement
A specific, measurable project impacting the special needs community
Work with an organization eligible to receive funding; SENIA cannot send funds to an individual
Be an active member in a current or new SENIA Local Chapter

Application process

Prepare a thoughtful submission.

All nomination materials, including supporting documentation, must be submitted in English. You may use your native language with an English translation.

All materials submitted become the property of SENIA and will not be returned.
